Your Guide to the October 2026 General Conference

Your Guide to the October 2026 General Conference

There’s a distinct chill in the autumn air along the Wasatch Front, the canyon leaves are putting on their annual show, and for many in Bountiful, that means one thing: General Conference weekend is here.

This Saturday and Sunday, October 3–4, 2026, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host its 196th Semiannual General Conference. Whether you are a lifelong member preparing your family’s favorite conference-weekend snacks, or a local resident who is simply curious about the uplifting messages (and the slight dip in weekend traffic!), here is everything you need to know.

What is General Conference?

Twice a year, members of the Church gather globally to listen to messages of hope, guidance, and peace centered on Jesus Christ. The broadcasts originate live from the 21,000-seat Conference Center just a few miles south of us in downtown Salt Lake City. The weekend features music by The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square and speeches from Church leaders.

For those not of the faith, it’s an open invitation to listen in. The messages often focus on universal themes like strengthening families, finding inner peace, extending charity in our communities, and navigating the complexities of modern life.

The October 2026 Schedule

The conference consists of four main two-hour sessions. Following recent format adjustments, there is no Saturday evening session this year, leaving your Saturday night open to enjoy a crisp Bountiful autumn evening.

Date Session Time (MDT)
Saturday, Oct. 3 Saturday Morning Session 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Saturday Afternoon Session 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 4 Music & the Spoken Word 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Sunday Morning Session 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Sunday Afternoon Session 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Where and How to Watch in Bountiful

You don’t have to travel downtown to take part. In fact, most people watch from the comfort of their own living rooms. Here is how you can tune in this weekend:

  • Local Television: Watch live on KSL-TV (Channel 5). KSL also runs fantastic special programming between the sessions featuring inspiring local stories.

  • BYUtv: Available through most local cable providers, streaming online, or via the BYUtv app.

  • Radio Broadcasts: If you are driving around Davis County or running errands, tune your car radio to KSL NewsRadio at 102.7 FM or 1160 AM.

  • Streaming Online: Stream directly from ChurchofJesusChrist.org, the General Conference YouTube channel, or through the Gospel Stream and Gospel Library mobile apps.

Heading Downtown?

If you were lucky enough to secure tickets through your local ward to attend a session in person, remember that your conference ticket doubles as a free UTA transit pass! The easiest way to avoid Salt Lake City parking is to hop on the FrontRunner at the Woods Cross station and ride it right into downtown.

No matter how you choose to spend your weekend in Bountiful, we wish you a peaceful, reflective, and wonderful October weekend!
